It’s Official: “The Golden Bachelorette” Has Been Renewed for Another Season
Bachelor Nation erupted with excitement after a new announcement claimed that The Golden Bachelorette had officially been renewed.
Fans immediately began debating which familiar woman should become the next lead.
Some suggested a former Golden Bachelor contestant who had left the mansion heartbroken but remained enormously popular online.
Others expected Joan Vassos to return, believing her story had not truly ended with the first season.
Within hours, supposed casting lists, filming dates and promotional posters began circulating across social media.
The announcement appeared believable because ABC has continued investing in the older-adult dating format.
However, one crucial word in the original renewal news was repeatedly changed as the story spread.
ABC officially renewed The Golden Bachelor—not The Golden Bachelorette.
How did the confusion begin?

The misunderstanding can be traced to ABC’s April 2025 announcement that The Golden Bachelor would return for Season 2.
Former NFL player and attorney Mel Owens was selected as the new leading man, and his season eventually premiered on ABC in September 2025.
Because the titles of the two programs differ by only one word, several social-media pages appear to have shared shortened or inaccurate versions of the announcement.
Once “Bachelor” was replaced with “Bachelorette,” the claim looked like a genuine confirmation of a second female-led season.
Fan-created posters made the rumor even more convincing. Some used ABC-style logos and professional photographs of popular women from earlier “Golden” seasons.
Yet no official Season 2 lead, cast, filming schedule or premiere date for The Golden Bachelorette accompanied those images.
Why viewers believed a renewal was inevitable

The first season of The Golden Bachelorette gave Bachelor Nation a different kind of romantic story.
Rather than focusing only on physical attraction and dramatic rivalry, the show explored grief, loneliness, adult children and the difficulty of starting over later in life.
Many contestants discussed losing spouses, rebuilding families and searching for companionship after decades of marriage.
That emotional honesty helped the spin-off develop a devoted audience.
It also created several potential future leads, each with an established story and strong viewer support.
For fans, another season therefore seemed less like a possibility and more like an obvious next step.
But enthusiasm is not the same as an official network decision.
Could the show still return?
Yes. The absence of a renewal announcement does not necessarily mean the series has been permanently cancelled.
ABC previously delayed the regular Bachelorette rather than immediately ending it, showing that the network can pause parts of the franchise while reconsidering scheduling and production plans.
The network may eventually revive The Golden Bachelorette for a midseason or summer slot.
It could also wait until another contestant emerges from The Golden Bachelor with enough popularity to carry a complete season.
However, a genuine renewal would normally include confirmation from ABC, details about the lead and at least a general release window.
None of those elements currently exists for Season 2.
The final clue hidden in the viral poster
The most revealing mistake appeared in the small print beneath one widely shared image.
Although the headline said The Golden Bachelorette, the description referred to “Mel’s journey” and a group of women competing for his affection.
Those details belonged to Mel Owens’ season of The Golden Bachelor, not a new female-led spin-off.
The poster had apparently reused real renewal information while changing the title to attract more attention.
So the celebration began before the announcement itself existed.
The Golden Bachelorette may still receive another season, and the enthusiastic response proves that many viewers are ready for it.
But for now, the next leading lady has not been officially chosen—and the rose she is supposedly holding exists only in a rumor.
