BREAKING: “High Potential” Season 3 — Steve Howey Finally Comes Home!

High Potential fans are celebrating after a dramatic claim suggested that Steve Howey is finally returning for Season 3.
His character, Captain Nick Wagner, became one of the most discussed additions to the ABC crime drama.
Wagner’s confident personality, unpredictable decisions and growing attraction to Morgan Gillory quickly divided viewers.
Some fans wanted Morgan to pursue a future with him, while others remained loyal to her emotional connection with Detective Karadec.
The Season 2 finale then left Wagner’s fate hanging in the balance after Morgan discovered him seriously wounded in a park.
That cliffhanger immediately sparked fears that Howey’s character had been permanently written out.
Online posts now claim that Wagner will “come home” and reunite with Morgan when the new season begins.
But the most important detail is that Howey may return only long enough to reveal who attacked Wagner—and why the attack was connected to Morgan.

What has actually been confirmed?

Steve Howey is not currently expected to continue as a full-time series regular in Season 3.
Reports indicate that he originally joined High Potential under a one-year agreement for the second season. His reduced involvement therefore does not appear to be the result of an unexpected firing or reported behind-the-scenes conflict.
However, the door has not been completely closed.
Howey could return as a guest star near the beginning of Season 3 to conclude Wagner’s unfinished storyline.
That possibility is likely what inspired claims that he is “finally coming home.”
Yet ABC has not officially announced that Howey is back on set, confirmed the number of episodes in which he might appear or revealed whether Wagner survives his injuries.
Why Wagner’s return matters
Morgan and Wagner had only just allowed their relationship to become romantic before the attack.
Their elevator kiss suggested that Morgan was finally prepared to explore a connection outside her complicated partnership with Karadec.
Then everything changed.
Morgan arrived at the park expecting Wagner to introduce her to a secret FBI source. Instead, she found him bleeding after an apparent assault.
The timing suggests Wagner may have uncovered information that someone desperately wanted to keep hidden.
If he survives, his first conversation with Morgan could provide the central mystery of the Season 3 premiere.
He may remember the attacker’s face, reveal the identity of the informant or admit that he had been investigating Roman without telling her.
Could Roman be involved?
The finale also suggested that Morgan’s missing former partner, Roman, might still be alive.
A man who appeared to resemble him was seen watching Ava, raising new questions about where he had been and why he had stayed hidden.
Fans now suspect Wagner’s attack and Roman’s disappearance could be connected.
Perhaps Wagner discovered that Roman was being protected by a government agency.
Another possibility is that Roman returned to Los Angeles because the people who forced him to disappear had begun targeting Morgan’s family.
Wagner may have tried to warn Morgan before he was silenced.
These possibilities remain theories, but they would explain why Howey’s brief return could have enormous consequences even if he appears in only one or two episodes.
The reunion may not be romantic
Viewers hoping for a happy reunion should prepare for a more painful outcome.
Wagner could survive but decide to leave Los Angeles after realizing that remaining close to Morgan would place her children in danger.
He might also awaken with no memory of the attack, forcing Morgan to reconstruct his final investigation alone.
The darkest possibility is that Howey returns only for Wagner’s final moments.
That would allow the series to conclude the character’s story while transforming his death into the case that drives Morgan through the new season.
For now, Steve Howey’s permanent return is not official.
But if Wagner opens his eyes in Season 3, the first name he says may determine the direction of the entire chapter.
And the person responsible for bringing him home may not be Morgan.
It may be Roman—the man whose disappearance started the mystery long before Wagner ever entered her life.
