Neighbours missing from TV schedule as end date for soap confirmed
The popular Australian soap has been missing from people’s evening schedule, with soap fans wondering where it’s gone as there are only a few months left before it ends
Neighbours has been missing from people’s normal TV schedule this week.
The popular Australian soap is normally shown at two points during the day, the first during lunchtime on RTE One at 1.40PM and then again at 6PM on RTE Two.
On tonight’s TV schedule, it says: “Jane Mangan is joined by Barry Geraghty, Davy Russell and Ruby Walsh for live coverage of day one of Punchestown Festival, including the William Hill Champion Chase. With commentary from Richard Pugh”.
Racing from Punchestown will continue until Saturday, 3 May, with it starting at 3PM during the weekend.
On Sunday, 4 May, more horse racing can be seen on RTE with the Newmarket – 1000 Guineas lined up.
It says on the schedule: “Francesca Cumani and Ed Chamberlin present coverage of a meeting headlined by the 1,000 Guineas from Newmarket, plus racing from Salisbury and Hamilton. With analysis from Jason Weaver, reporting by Matt Chapman and Oli Bell, and commentary from Richard Hoiles.”
During this period, soap lovers can still catch Neighbours at its earlier TV slot, with those unable to watch it at that time also able to view it on the RTE Player.
It has also been confirmed that it will return to its regular television slots from Monday, 5 May.
After previously escaping cancellation, it was announced in February that Neighbours will be coming to an end later this year.
The reboot, which was carried out by Amazon Freevee, began in September 2023 and will end after they mark the show’s 40th anniversary this year. However, bosses behind the show hinted that there could be more down the line.
It’s expected that the show will finish airing in December 2025.
