Below Deck Mediterranean transported us to the breathtaking Greek isles for the first time in Season 9. Captain Sandy Yawn led the crew of motor yacht Mustique, including Chief Stew Aesha Scott, Bosun Iain Maclean, and Chef Johnathan Shillingford, through some truly wild ups and downs.

Remember at the beginning of the season, when there were barely any provisions available? Or the Mediterranean hurricane that came out of nowhere? What about when Aesha accidentally cut her hand, and had to go to a local doctor? We couldn’t help but hold our breath until we knew everything was okay.

On top of that, this season of Below Deck Med was hardly just one-off hard-to-believe moments. Viewers saw themes emerge throughout the group’s time in Greece. Inside the yacht, Bri Muller learned the ropes of laundry and Elena Dubaich hoped Aesha would give her more authority over Bri. On deck, sparks flew between Gael Cameron and Nathan Gallagher, but tension between Gael and Nathan’s cabinmate Joe Bradley almost stopped it from growing into a flame.

By the time Carrie O’Neill joined the Interior team toward the end of the season, she had a lot to catch up on in terms of social dynamics. When it came to work, she demonstrated enough experience — so much so that Aesha said in her interview that Ellie was “overstepping” in response to Carrie’s competence.
