What Became of Lewis Lupton After Below Deck Adventure Season 1?

Below Deck Adventure's Lewis Lupton

Lewis Lupton was Captain Kerry Titheradge’s Bosun on Below Deck Adventure season 1, and it’s time to check in on the yachtie after his stint on the show. Below Deck Adventure became the fifth series in the Below Deck franchise in 2022, spotlighting the frigid landscapes of Norway. With the introduction of the new show came a fresh cast. Captain Kerry made his franchise debut in Below Deck Adventure season 1 before he was tapped to lead Below Deck season 11. The crew was led by Faye Clarke as the Chief Stew, Chef Jessica Condy, and Lewis as the Bosun.

Below Deck Adventure season 1 was an interesting expansion for the Below Deck franchise, which typically showcased a captain and crew traveling to warm, paradise-like locations. Nonetheless, the series turned out to be an entertaining and drama-filled season. The spin-off solidified Captain Kerry’s position within the franchise as a captain. Lewis navigated the pressure of filming Below Deck Adventure and leading an exterior team alright on the show, though his leadership techniques weren’t always smooth sailing. Despite a few rocky waters, he hasn’t let Below Deck Adventure slow down his yachting career.

Lewis Lupton Continued Yachting After The Show

Lewis Is Still Immersed In The Yachting World

After Below Deck Adventure season 1, Lewis continued working in the yachting industry. He shares updates on his career and travels via his Instagram. In one video on Lewis’ social media, he posted clips of himself sailing to Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory. “A taste of a Mammoth journey,” Lewis captioned the Instagram Reel. The Bosun didn’t seem like he was attempting to join the Below Deck franchise to fame and fortune, which he’s proven since his time off the show.

Before he joined Below Deck Adventure season 1, Lewis graduated from the United Kingdom Sailing Academy. His background positioned him as an adequate candidate for the Bosun role in Below Deck Adventure, and he put that knowledge to the test during the charter season. Lewis worked well on the deck but struggled to manage conflict between his deckhands, Nathan Morley, and Kyle Dickard. The latter deck crew member had a bad temper and didn’t listen to orders. When Nathan asked Kyle to flush their shared toilet after each use, he physically threatened him.

Instead of going to the Bosun about the issue, Nathan chose to speak with Captain Kerry about Kyle’s behavior. Lewis was a little bit too laid back during his time on Below Deck Adventure season 1. Despite his faults as a leader, he was a good Bosun. Lewis formed a short-lived boatmance with stew Oriana Schneps. They seemingly had chemistry on the show, though nothing came of their connection after Below Deck Adventure season 1.

It’s unclear if there will be a second season of Below Deck Adventure. There has been speculation the spin-off may have been canceled with Captain Kerry’s jump to Below Deck season 11. While some could argue he may have only joined the mainstay show for one season, he was spotted filming Below Deck season 12, hinting that he joined the show as Captain Lee Rosbach’s permanent replacement. If the series doesn’t return for season 2, Lewis could return to the franchise in some capacity. Lewis hasn’t said if he would want to come back for another season, hinting the door is open.

He wasn’t the best Bosun during Below Deck Adventure, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve a second shot in the franchise. With Captain Kerry serving as the head of Below Deck, he could call on Lewis to work with him in the future. Lewiscould redeem himself with a feature on Below Deck or one of its spin-offs.

Lewis from Below Deck Adventure hasn’t quit yachting since the show wrapped filming. He shares yacht-related content on his social media pages, giving his followers an update on his life. Lewis wasn’t the best Bosun during his time on the show, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t return to the franchise.
