Deck Down Under won’t return?
Below Deck Down Under has been one of the more notable Below Deck spin-offs, but after two seasons of fun under the Australian sun, I don’t think it’s making a comeback to Peacock. Following Aussie Captain Jason Chambers superyacht that sailed through the waters of Australia, the spin-off was the first to make its way to Peacock over Bravo, streaming on the platform for viewers. Though Captain Jason and his crew, including Chief Stew Aesha Scott, were capable and happy to work with the charter guests aboard the superyachts they sailed, the show did have somewhat less viewership than others.
The Below Deck franchise, which grew to include the original Below Deck, Below Deck Mediterranean, Below Deck Down Under, Below Deck Sailing Yacht, and Below Deck Adventure, has been one of the most successful franchises Bravo has ever seen. Even so, the network isn’t shy about canceling the shows if they’re not doing well with their target audience. While Below Deck and its first spin-off, Below Deck Med, are typically beloved by viewers, the other spin-offs have struggled in the past. Viewers loved the relationship between Captain Jason and Chief Stew Aesha, but haven’t seen any news about another season.

Below Deck Down Under originally premiered in March 2022 to mixed reviews from fans and critics alike. Though the formula was the same as the other Below Deck shows, the series was a bit different considering the majority of the crew was Australian, and they were in an Australian locale. Even so, the cast and crew were able to captivate viewers into watching the show and found themselves with another season of the series being greenlit by Peacock. Below Deck Down Under season 2 premiered in mid-July 2023, meaning it’s been nearly a year since the show was on.
With an entire year having passed after the last season, there should be some buzz about Below Deck Down Under returning if it’s going to be back. Typically, Below Deck shows premiere around the same time each year, but there’s been no news about a new season of Below Deck Down Under to report. I don’t think the long gap has been a coincidence, but instead, leads me to feel certain that there won’t be another season of Below Deck Down Under coming to Peacock.
Aesha & Captain Jason Were Rumored To Be Feuding
While Aesha and Captain Jason were an incredible team during their time on Below Deck Down Under together, the pair has reportedly been feuding after their last charter together. While neither has confirmed that there are issues between them, Captain Jason didn’t appear to be happy about how he found out that Aesha was going back to her original Below Deck spin-off, Below Deck Mediterranean. Aesha has also said some somewhat complicated, negative things about Captain Jason in the press, because many Below Deck fans openly want her and the Captain together romantically despite her engagement to her long-term partner.
While there isn’t any proof that Captain Jason and Aesha are feuding, the fact that they haven’t fully denied that there’s beef between them is an indication of sorts. It appears that Aesha is moving on with her current crew, and Captain Jason has shared that he hasn’t heard any news about another season of Below Deck Down Under, so the pair don’t really have a reason to be talking. I think if Captain Jason and Aesha aren’t on good terms, production wouldn’t want to make another season of the series, because their chemistry was the heart of the show.
Aesha Joined Below Deck Med Season 9
While Aesha enjoyed her time on Below Deck Down Under, she chose to return to her roots, joining a charter with Captain Sandy Yawn on Below Deck Mediterranean season 9. Aesha got her start on Below Deck Med, and though she hasn’t been back for years, she felt that after getting an incredible amount of experience with difficult situations on Below Deck Down Under, she could work as the Chief Stew on a superyacht beneath Captain Sandy. With Aesha back on her original spin-off, I think the chances of her returning to Below Deck Down Under are slim to none.
There Hasn’t Been Any Talk Of A New Season
Although many have been looking for news about Below Deck Down Under season 3, there hasn’t been much discussion of another season in the press or around the Below Deck fandom. Captain Jason has shared that he hasn’t heard anything about another season, which doesn’t seem promising about there being another with him at the helm. Though another season of the series could be in the works, it doesn’t seem likely that there will be another Below Deck Down Under season anytime soon, and I think, probably ever. It appears the show is likely over for good after two seasons.
