Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Gary King’s bad behavior has hurt his opportunities and career, but it’s also taken a toll on his relationship with Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher. Throughout the run of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, several returning yachties have been part of the series, including Daisy and Gary. During Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4, a love triangle blossomed between Daisy, Gary, and the former First Engineer of Parsifal III Colin MacRae. Though Daisy and Colin were the main romance in the triangle, Gary was jealous of their relationship and struggled with feeling like the pair’s third wheel.
While Daisy and Gary have both chosen to return for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, Colin didn’t come back to Parsifal III for another charter season. After a difficult breakup with Daisy and a tough reunion for the show’s last season that put all three former friends at odds, Daisy and Gary were the only two to return to the luxury sailing yacht. The pair had a difficult time at the show’s reunion, and other scandals quickly amassed. Daisy Said He Didn’t Respect Her Relationship With Colin
She Didn’t Appreciate His Behavior
Although Colin wasn’t a part of the Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 cast, he took up quite a bit of screentime when it came to Gary and Daisy rehashing their issues. During the BDSY season 4 reunion, Daisy, Colin, and Gary all reached depths with each other that they didn’t expect. Daisy explained during the premiere episode that she didn’t feel like Gary respected her relationship with Colin, which Gary didn’t necessarily argue with in the moment.
While Gary and Colin were friends throughout their time on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, the pair didn’t see eye-to-eye when it came to their relationships with Daisy. Colin wanted something more romantic, while it wasn’t clear what exactly Gary was looking for. Regardless, Daisy understood that Gary wasn’t happy about their romantic relationship and often struggled with her and Colin together, which was upsetting for her.

After sharing that she felt disrespected during her relationship with Colin, especially when Gary began to treat her like she belonged to his friend rather than as a friend of his on her own, she was also hurt that he hadn’t been there for her through the difficult breakup. When Daisy and Colin split, she had an incredibly difficult time trying to rebound and pick herself back up. Rather than being there to support her, Gary fell off the grid and virtually disappeared. Daisy explained how hurt she was that Gary hadn’t been there for her to lean on post-split.

Although Daisy and Gary had a difficult conversation at the beginning of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, in real-time it appears that the pair have made amends. Though there’s sure to be more following their relationship being mended during the season, Daisy and Gary have shared photos together in recent months on Instagram, making it seem like their friendship is back on track. Though the Below Deck Sailing Yacht stars have some bigger things to tackle as they move toward a renewed friendship, Gary and Daisy seem to have to deal with the small stuff first.
