The day after The Bachelor season 28 finale aired on the night of March 25, 2024, Joey shared an Instagram post in which he checked in as “the luckiest guy in the world.” He shared a carousel of photographs of himself and Kelsey, writing, “What a beautiful ending to such an amazing experience.”Joey explained that his Bachelor journey began in January 2023, when he received a DM from a producer asking him if he’d be interested in joining the show.
Joey questioned if the show would be the right atmosphere for him to find true love, but he took a chance anyway and joined The Bachelorette season 20 starring Charity Lawson, in which he placed second. After his Bachelor season 28 finale, Joey gushed that he knew that joining the show was “hands down the best decision of my life. Everything that has happened since that day has led me to this remarkable woman that is unlike anyone I have met in my life. She is kind, beautiful, goofy, original, authentic, and my bright light.”
Joey also included the quote, “I always knew I wanted to have a beautiful life, I just didn’t know how beautiful it could be until I met you.” He concluded the post by writing, “I love you forever Kelsey. Along with a carousel of photographs from the show, she shared that she joined the series”excited to embrace a unique life experience. I was open to love, but not set on it. My mindset going in was that Joey is just a guy and I’m just a gal and we have no idea if we will mesh or not, so let’s find out…and boy did I.”
Kelsey shared that during The Bachelor season 28 week one, she learned about Joey’s tattoos and motorcycle wreck. In week two, he told her about how he looks up to his sister’s marriage and wants “that same, utterly obvious love.” Kelsey said, “By the end I knew who he was at his core. Maybe not how his first tooth fell out but I knew the kind of husband, father and friend he would be.”
Kelsey explained that after their Fantasy Suite date, she told one of the Bachelor producers that loving Joey “feels like a perfect day, when the sun is out, the clouds are fluffy, when it’s not too cold or too hot and everything just feels right! Joey, loving you is effortless like a beautiful sunny day.”

The morning after Joey and Kelsey’s Bachelor overnight Fantasy Suite date, Joey was shown cooking eggs on the show, but many fans thought he did a less than stellar job. In a hilarious Instagram post, Joey jokingly said that the video was for the “haters,” writing, “This is for everyone that doubted my cooking skills from our morning together in Tulum. Full disclosure, I’d understand why you would still doubt it since all I did was cook ground turkey [laughing emoji] #EggGate.”
In the video, Joey cooked ground turkey as he said he humorously called the situation “EggGate” because it was “set up to make it look like I didn’t know what I was doing.” Joey and Kelsey then discussed which ingredients they wanted to add to their dish, including green beans, yams, potatoes, and cheese. On Joey’s birthday on May 24, 2024, Kelsey dedicated an Instagram post to him. She included a carousel of a video of them kissing and several photographs with Joey doing various things, including sporting a silly mustache. The last slide had a picture of Luca, the main character from Disney Pixar’s Luca, who many fans say Joey resembles. It was a funny picture to include at the end of the slides because it was unexpected.
In the caption of the post, Kelsey gushed about Joey.
