He initially believed Ben was going to promote him to lead deckhand due to his experience in the yachting industry. However, Sunny Marquis got the job, and Dylan was disappointed.
He began spreading rumors that Sunny received the promotion because she was sleeping with Ben. When Ben heard what he was saying, he confronted him immediately. It was wrong of Dylan to assume Ben gave the role of lead deckhand to his boatmance partner. After Sunny heard what he said, Dylan attempted to kiss her after a night out. She denied him, and it was one of the most awkward moments of the season. Aside from his brief drama, Dylan had a good time on Below Deck season 11 and formed strong bonds with his co-stars.
