Interesting Boat Incident Below Deck Season 11

Barbie and Kyle from below deck season 11 in their blues

Below Deck season 11 has been filled with some tumultuous boatmances, but which of them survived the most recent episode of the season? While there are nearly always boatmances on Below Deck, the current season of the series has been watching sparks fly between two separate couples throughout the season. With Captain Kerry Titheradge creating a calmer environment for the St. David’s crew, the interior and exterior teams felt more compelled to let their emotions out throughout the charter season. Though no one has gone official with their romances yet, the boatmances have been quite interesting for viewers to watch.

Ben Willoughby, who first appeared on Below Deck season 10, is no stranger to boatmances. Though he was entangled with costar Camille Lamb throughout the last season, the former flames fizzled out and Ben was determined to stay professional on Below Deck season 11. Unfortunately, his attraction to Marie “Sunny” Marquis was too hard to ignore, and Ben jumped into a boatmance. Elsewhere, stew Barbie Pascual and deckhand Kyle Stillie were clearly attracted to one another, but both took things slower than Ben and Sunny. Though interested in each other, the couples have stalled after last episode brought the drama.

Ben And Sunny Have Been Hooking Up All Season

They Connected Quickly On St. David

After working together through the first charters of the season, Ben and Sunny realized that their attraction toward one another was more than just friendly. The pair had done well together working on the exterior team, and though Ben had alleged that he wasn’t going to get into another boatmance after his experiences on Below Deck season 10, he was interested in Sunny. The couple began hooking up early on in the Below Deck season, and things seemed to be going smoothly until Ben’s naturally flirty personality rubbed Sunny the wrong way. Seeing his behavior as disrespectful, Sunny was hurt.

On Below Deck season 10, Ben and Camille shared a relationship that wound up moving offscreen when she was fired from St. David. After a charter season full of struggle, Ben was likely the only thing about Camille’s experience aboard the superyacht that she was interested in pursuing. The pair were sweet with one another, both unexpectedly falling for each other during their time on the superyacht. Despite not really looking for a relationship, Ben and Camille were interested in pursuing a romance once St. David was docked. The pair met up off the ship and spent weeks traveling together.

While Ben was excited to see where things would go with Camille, she wasn’t sure she was ready for a commitment. The way Ben explained it on Below Deck season 11 made it clear that they weren’t on the same page about what they were or what they wanted moving forward. Ben was interested in a relationship, sharing that he had genuine feelings for Camille, while she wasn’t certain about her next steps. Ben shared that he felt Camille cheated on him during their time together while traveling, which had broken his trust entirely and led him to shut down.

Ben Put A Pause On His Romance With Sunny

He Wasn’t Happy With Her Reaction To His Behavior

Although he wasn’t looking for a boatmance again, Ben’s relationship with Sunny moved quickly and the pair connected in an undeniable way. As the charter season progressed, Ben and Sunny’s relationship became trickier for them to maintain. Ben, who has a naturally flirty and charismatic personality, was being touchy and affectionate with the other women aboard St. David, which made Sunny uncomfortable. When she expressed her discomfort to Ben, he didn’t understand why she was upset. The pair have been at a standstill more than once this charter season because he didn’t get why she was irritated at his behavior.

On the most recent episode of Below Deck season 11, Ben had been feeling some difficult emotions surrounding his breakup with Camille. After seeing her Instagram story and posting some photos of her on his own, he checked in with his ex, who clearly felt it was an unexpected call. When Sunny saw that Ben had posted his ex lovingly on his Instagram story, she was uncomfortable. She approached Ben about it, and while he wasn’t happy with her dissatisfaction, he didn’t know how to change things. He didn’t appreciate her pained reaction and wound up ending their short-lived boatmance.

Kyle Has Been Interested In Barbie All Season

She Wasn’t Sure She Wanted To Be In A Boatmance

Throughout Below Deck season 11, Kyle and Barbie have been circling one another, both uncertain about what was going to happen between them, if anything. Barbie had some attraction toward Jared Woodin earlier in the season, but she quickly got over the idea of him romantically in favor of Kyle. Though their boatmance has been quite short, the pair seem to genuinely have an affection toward one another that has been sweet to watch grow. While Barbie has been on a more winding path toward her interest in Kyle, he’s been romantically interested in her throughout Below Deck season 11.

The Pair Finally Hooked Up Aboard St. David

They’d Been Flirting Relentlessly

After several charters of the pair flirting with one another, Kyle and Barbie’s boatmance finally took off in a recent episode of Below Deck season 11. The pair were both on duty late at night, helping some difficult charter guests with after-hours snacks when they got more flirty than they’d been. Though they weren’t aiming for anything serious, the pair decided to spend the night in Barbie’s bunk, and when things got heated, they took to the shower for a bit more privacy. Despite saying she wouldn’t get into a boatmance to her father, Barbie and Kyle took things further.

Barbie Regretted Getting Physical With Kyle

Her Reaction Was Hurtful To Him

While Barbie and Kyle both made the decision to take things further in their relationship, her regret the next morning was a tough blow to Kyle’s ego. Barbie shared that her father is very conservative, and she’d promised him and herself that she wouldn’t get into a physical relationship aboard St. David. While she tried to make that clear to Kyle, he didn’t fully understand why she was so upset about letting him down when he wasn’t her keeper. Though Kyle and Barbie still clearly have an affinity for one another, their Below Deck boatmance may be on the rocks.
