Ben Willoughby Blames ‘Below Deck’ For Job Loss
Ben Willoughby participated in Seasons 10 and 11 of Below Deck. It seems Ben has not left the show in the past. Mr. Willoughby took to TikTok to share that he blames the show for him losing his job. It seems that he has had some difficulty in the yachting industry since he departed from the Below Deck franchise.
Ben Got Fired
Several months after Season 11 ended Ben Willoughby posted on his TikTok that he was fired because he participated in Below Deck. He said the owner and captain of the yacht he was working on found out that he was on the show. Ben said shortly after they found out he was fired from his position. Ben had been on board yachting with them in St. Maarten and St. Kitts for several weeks.
Willoughby’s TikTok post said “Have a good story about the crew on Below Deck, getting back into the industry after television appearances…Not yachting anymore. Have decided to move out of the industry as below deck has caused too many battles getting back into the industry,” he wrote. Ben explained that he is focusing on other passions.
Ben Willoughby let fans know that he is working on new projects. The former yachtie said that he loves photography. He often shares his work on his social media. Fans have been curious about what is next for Ben. One fan asked if he is still in the industry. Ben replied “It’s a stigma throughout the Superyacht world. Some take offense to the show, most crew need to be discreet onboard. Hopefully, it changes for future Below Deck crew.“
Ben And Sunny’s Relationship
Sunny Marquis and Ben Willoughby are going strong after a year together. During his time on Below Deck Ben hinted that he had a girlfriend but he did not reveal much information about her. Fans were curious if they were still together. The couple are still together. Ben shared to Instagram,
“Finally[,] we can let go of the secrecy that has been held for the past 15 months. We want to thank you all for the support throughout Season 11 [of Below Deck] it’s been a rollercoaster to relive the season and the beginning of a relationship. We ended up traveling the globe together last year[,] and Sunny made her way to Australia for Christmas. Anyways, hoping you all enjoyed the season. Sunny and Ben xx.”

The couple often travel and use social media to share their adventures with Fans. Recently Willoughby shared on Instagram the couple trying to complete a painting challenge. They tried to paint one another, and the results were hilarious. They both laughed at each other’s paintings and appeared to be having a great time.
