Colin MacRae Will Guest Star in An Episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht (He’s Saving the Show from Gary King)

Will Colin Macrae Return To Below Deck Sailing Yacht? (He Could Be Done For Good)

Unlike his friends Gary King and Daisy Kelliher, Colin Macrae may not return to the Below Deck franchise. The former chief engineer began his reality TV journey in 2021 when he joined Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2. He featured in the spin-off alongside crew members such as Gary and Daisy, who became his best friends in the following seasons. Colin performed well as chief engineer in his debut season, handling his duties effectively and showcasing exceptional skills. Captain Glenn Shephard was impressed and invited him back for Below Deck Sailing Yacht seasons 3 and 4.

Colin did good work on board Parsifal III throughout his time there. He demonstrated what it means to be a good teammate during a charter, whether enjoying leisure or performing tasks. The New Zealand native consistently displayed professionalism during his three-year tenure on the show. Colin also experienced some dramatic moments in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4, notably being involved in a love triangle with his co-workers and friends Gary and Daisy. The scandal strained his relationships with his colleagues, ultimately leading him to distance himself from the Below Deck franchise.

Colin Didn’t Return For Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5

Colin Wasn’t A Fan Of The Messy Love Triangle Drama

The network aired Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 in October 2024. The spin-off featured familiar cast members such as Captain Glenn, Gary, and Daisy, with Davide Morosi replacing Colin as the chief engineer.

Colin’s absence from Below Deck Sailing Yacht didn’t come as a big surprise, given his feelings of exhaustion and frustration due to the love triangle drama in 2023. Although Colin still follows his former crew members and Captain Glenn on social media, he didn’t join them on the luxury yacht, Parsifal III, for the latest season, likely to avoid drama.

Colin Is Focused On His YouTube Channel

Colin Was Thrilled To Be Reuniting With Captain Glenn

Colin didn’t appear in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, but he’s still working on short projects with his former team members. In September 2024, Colin announced he’d be joining Captain Glenn for a sailboat show next month. He seemed excited to be reuniting with his former captain and working independently. Colin is focused on building his reputation. He has a YouTube channel called Sailing Parlay Revival, where he shares his sea adventures with fans, releasing 6–7 videos every month. The Below Deck Sailing Yacht alum already has over 330k subscribers on YouTube.

Colin Is Likely Done With The Show

Colin Is Living A Life Free Of Drama

While Colin hasn’t confirmed whether he’ll return to the franchise, his actions suggest that his time on the show may be over.

He’s thriving on his own terms while making videos for Sailing Parlay Revival and capitalizing on his fame. Although he may not appear in Below Deck Sailing Yacht, he’s proud of his appearance on the show. Colin mentions Below Deck in his Instagram bio and appears to have a friendly relationship with the network. While he may make an appearance in a different Below Deck spin-off in the future, he’s currently focused on doing his own thing.
