That success led to The Golden Bachelorette season 1 being greenlit, but Gerry’s life took a turn when he and Theresa Nist announced their divorce after only three months of marriage. What started off as a cast member breathing new life into the franchise turned into a villain who damaged his reputation.

Gerry is currently trekking across the United States on his “Nomad Granddad Tour,” with his latest Instagram post featuring the Grand Canyon. However, something very surprising took place in the comments section.
Jen Woolston, the daughter of Gerry’s ex-wife Theresa, actually left a comment on the post and expressed her amazement at the beauty on display in Gerry’s photo. She explained that she once went to the Grand Canyon in high school with her soccer team and added that she “would love to take the boys one day.” Interestingly, Kathy Swarts, who was rejected by Gerry on The Golden Bachelor, also replied with her own comment, calling it a “beautiful photo” and expressing her happiness that Gerry had a “great hike.” As of this writing, Gerry hasn’t liked either comment.

Gerry hasn’t acknowledged Jen or Kathy’s comments yet, as he’s been really busy on his trip. However, in recent days, that hasn’t stopped him from lashing out at some critics. When someone asked him to go away, Gerry sternly told the social media user that this is his Instagram page and they are free to go somewhere else. In a later comment, he admitted he enjoyed seeing how petty his critics have gotten. Since he does look at his notifications, he will likely see Jen and Kathy’s comments, and it will be interesting to see if he replies to them.
Jen’s comment brings up the question over whether Gerry and Theresa’s families still communicate with each other, despite the divorce. Back in April, after the Golden Bachelor stars announced their separation, Jen took to Instagram to say that even though he was no longer married to her mother, she would always consider Gerry and his kids to be family. It’s very possible that Gerry and Theresa’s kids text and chat with each other after getting to know each other during their parents’ brief engagement and marriage.
It’s unclear, though, if Gerry and Theresa themselves still communicate with each other in private. The reason they gave for their separation was that they couldn’t come to an agreement on where to live together. If that is truly the reason for their divorce, then presumably they still care about each other in some capacity, even if they’re no longer in a relationship. As Gerry’s reputation has deteriorated in recent months, everyone else connected to The Golden Bachelor seemingly turned their backs on Gerry, for the most part, so maybe Jen and Kathy’s comments prove the opposite.
