90 Day Fiancé: The True Reason Rachel Walters Broke Up with Jon Walters
Rachel Walters and Jon Walters from 90 Day Fiancé are no longer together due to a devastating reason. Rachel, from Albuquerque, New Mexico, met the England native Jon on the karaoke app Smule. Rachel already had a daughter named Ella when she met Jon and gave birth to another baby during their long-distance relationship. Rachel even sent Jon a piece of her baby’s umbilical cord before she flew to meet Jon with her new baby in tow in Before the 90 Days season 2. Jon accepted Rachel’s past, and she was able to confront him about his questionable past.
It was one of the reasons why he wasn’t able to travel to the U.S. Jon had multiple assault charges on his criminal record. He had gotten into 50–60 fights when he was young. Jon had hit his victim so hard that he suffered an eye injury. Rachel was worried that Jon could also get violent with her. However, the couple got married and kept trying to get Jon a spousal visa before Rachel gave up. She announced her split with Jon after being together for eight years through an Instagram Reel in May 2024.

Rachel Said It Was The Final Visa Update
Rachel added several slides to a video captioned, “final visa update” and admitted how it pained her to post it. Rachel wrote that it wasn’t the “ending” or the “finale” that she and Jon had expected. She wrote that they had grown apart and decided “to not continue.” Rachel called it the “end of an era” and mentioned how it was not an easy decision for them to make Rachel confirm that their visa journey was over. She asked fans to give them privacy and time to adjust to their new reality. However, there was more to Rachel’s story.

According to Rachel’s May post, the distance and time they spent apart took a toll on their marriage. She decided to “explain” the real reason behind her split with Jon in a July Instagram Reel. Rachel admitted that it was a decision she had made after wrestling with it for a long time. Rachel revealed they faced some “significant challenges” that were invisible to the outside world. Rachel described long-distance relationships as “inherently difficult” and that theirs was no different.
The constant visa denials, financial strain, and the emotional strain of being apart for extended periods made them separate. Rachel revealed that for the last four years, they had been together for only 13 days. Their communication wasn’t the strongest anymore, leading to arguments. Rachel and Jon had been growing apart, and it became increasingly clear to her that their values and life goals were no longer aligned. Rachel slammed those who accused her of giving up too easily by telling them she had fought for the relationship for seven years.

Jon Is Feeling “Dead Inside” – Will Rachel Take Him Back?
Meanwhile, Jon’s social media updates make it obvious that the decision was entirely Rachel’s. After their split, Jon posted a black and white video where he was singing the Roxette song, “It Must Have Been Love” and it looked like he had been crying. Later in July, Jon shared, before and after, photos of his body to reveal he had lost 24 pounds, but instead of celebrating the weight loss, he felt “dead inside” and hated himself and his “whole existence.” Jon was seen telling a 90 Day Fiancé fan that he hoped he didn’t wake up the next day.
