Is Trishelle Cannatella Faking Her Behavior on Below Deck Med?

Below Deck Mediterranean season 9’s recent charter guest and The Traitors season 2 winner Trishelle Cannatella is lashing out after being accused of faking her behavior aboard the Mustique. Throughout Below Deck Mediterranean season 9, the guests aboard Mustique have had an interesting time moving through their charters, especially with the unpredictable waters of the Mediterranean changing things up from time to time. Trishelle, who appeared on The Real World and The Challenge in the 2000s and 2010s, respectively, has been a reality TV legend for years and was excited to be invited aboard Mustique by her close friends.

“It looked like you were behaving to repair your reputation”

While there have been accusations of the Below Deck Med crew faking their poor performance for the sake of drama, Trishelle has been called out by an X (formerly Twitter) user for using her appearance on the series to repair her reputation. Trishelle shared that prior to her appearance on Below Deck Mediterranean, she didn’t receive many positive comments about the idea of her being on the series, to which one user, D One, replied, “It looked like you were behaving to repair your reputation. Is it real or PR? The one woman complained about everything.”

“Are you out of your mind,” Trishelle questioned the user, continuing, “You’re an idiot. Does that check with my “reputation”?” While Trishelle was clear that she felt the user had crossed the line with their question, their initial question remained after her reply was sent. Trishelle, who doesn’t appear to have a long-withstanding reputation from her time on reality TV, was likely perplexed by the question in the first place.

Below Deck Med Comes Under Fire Over Producer Interference Accusations

Production Has Had A Heavy Hand In Season 9

With Below Deck Mediterranean having issues throughout the season with how involved production has been in formulating the drama that has permeated through the crew, it’s clear that there’s a lack of trust between Below Deck Med viewers and the team behind the show. After Johnathan Shillingford, the season’s chef, and Bosun Iain MacLean were accused of faking their dramatically poor performances aboard Mustique for drama, viewers started watching the show closely. While there hasn’t been confirmation of production interference, it appears that Below Deck audiences jump to the idea when there’s a heavy amount of drama aboard a superyacht.

Despite knowing that some of the drama aboard each Below Deck vessel is real, there is the chance that the majority of the interpersonal issues within the series are manipulated by the producers. When that bleeds into the crew’s day-to-day work, though, Below Deck Mediterranean’s credibility gets called into question. Throughout the show’s run, there have been questions about producer interference and the majority have been left unanswered as the series has continued. Now, with guests being called into question as well about their appearances on the show, some may start speaking up about the series.

Although Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 has been an exciting watch, the drama aboard Mustique may not be the most genuine. From the love triangle between Stews Ellie Dubaich, Bri Muller, & Deckhand Joe Bradley to the issues regarding the Bosun and the rest of the exterior team, Below Deck Med season 9 has brought some tremendous drama, but if some of it has been manipulated by producers, it may be an issue for viewers who are looking for genuine content. The truth about Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 may ultimately come out later on.
