Brayden Bowers Reveals the Hardships of Stepfatherhood
Getting candid.
Bachelor Nation stars Brayden Bowers and Christina Mandrell got engaged earlier this year at “The Golden Wedding.”
Brayden popped the question surrounded by their Bachelor Nation family, and Christina said yes!
Now the two are living together with Christina’s daughter in Nashville and planning their wedding day.
This week, the couple stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour” podcast, where Brayden opened up to co-hosts Susan Noles and Kathy Swarts about becoming a stepdad (aka BrayDad) to Christina’s daughter Blakely.
When asked about how that transition has been, Brayden was honest, saying, “It’s been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do in my life. I love it and I absolutely love Blakely, but there is no break. She is 7, but she is also every bit of 13. She is the sassiest little person. Everything is just ‘why?’ I want to cut her some slack too, though, because she really does accommodate well.”
The Bachelor Nation star went on, saying, “She listens very well and there have been growing pains that we’ve had to navigate and go through. At the end of the day, when it comes to me and her, I want to show her that my biggest love language is spending time together. Quality time is my biggest love language, so I show her that I will always be here to hang out with her and to listen. I want to show her that I will always be consistent in that area. I have been consistent in those areas.”
Kathy said she teared up hearing Brayden talk about his stepdaughter in such a sweet way and added, “Children learn by what they see you do and not by what you tell them.”
So she said that Blakely will see that Brayden is consistently there and their bond will continue to grow stronger as she gets older.
We love seeing how Brayden and Christina’s relationship continues to thrive and we can’t wait for all that the future holds for them.
