Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 has brought back Captain Sandy Yawn back to the helm of the charter, but the series is showing a whole new side to the superyacht captain. Captain Sandy has been a part of the spin-off series since Below Deck Mediterranean season 2, and she’s jumped into the other versions of the show in the past. Though Captain Sandy has been part of the franchise for years, her time as the Captain of the Mustique has provided an interesting look at the way she manages her crew members. While Captain Sandy has always been difficult to work for aboard a superyacht, her attitude and style always seem to get the job done. Though there have been times that she’s been a micromanager in the past, Captain Sandy and her crew typically come up with a positive end result throughout each charter of the season. Despite navigating her issues, seeing her work through problems proves Captain Sandy is more selfish than ever.
Captain Sandy Made Remarks About The Inconvenience Of Aesha’s Injury
Although Captain Sandy seems to be happy that Chief Stew Aesha Scott is back on Below Deck Mediterranean after a long absence, she made some comments in the most recent episode of the series that were off-putting to viewers. After Aesha had some glass stuck in her hand from a guest activity in the previous episode, she had to seek medical attention. While Sandy was concerned for Aesha, she explained that the fact that her Chief Stew had to go to the hospital to get help was inconveniencing her. Rather than caring for Aesha, Captain Sandy was thinking of herself.

While Captain Sandy has some understandable concerns about the way the crew will function without their Chief Stew, she’s been selfish in other areas of the season, as well. During the second charter of Below Deck Mediterranean season 9, the Mustique hosted a close friend of Captain Sandy’s and her own group of guests aboard the superyacht. Captain Sandy wanted things to be even more buttoned up than they’d been for the first charter, explaining that she was looking for perfection so that her friend didn’t look down on her throughout the charter.
