Daisy Kelliher May Step Away from Below Deck Sailing Yacht to Focus on Her Family
Daisy Kelliher May Step Away from Below Deck Sailing Yacht to Focus on Her Family
Daisy Kelliher is a fan-favorite cast member on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, but she might need to focus on family rather than filming in the wake of a serious accident. Beginning in season 2, the Chief Stew quickly established herself as a capable and strong leader even when faced with challenging guests and crew dynamics. Notably, she became entangled in a love triangle with Gary King and Colin MacRae. She was expected to return for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, but her plans may have changed.
Daisy and Gary had a flirtatious relationship on the show, but Colin threw a wrench into their playful romance. After Colin joined the crew as the Chief Engineer, he and Daisy developed a close friendship that blossomed into deeper feelings. The love triangle on Below Deck Sailing Yacht caused tension and drama, with Gary even accusing Daisy of sleeping with Colin to spite him. However, Daisy has more serious problems than petty relationship issues, putting the upcoming season into question.

Tragically, Daisy’s sister was in an accident in June. While the exact details aren’t public, Daisy implied that her sister, Bonnie, had sustained numerous injuries in what seemed to be a moped or motorbike crash in Thailand. In an Instagram post, Daisy explained, “The only reason I am sharing this information (with my families permission) is to promote a few things. For anyone who might see this who is going on holiday or travelling or anything like this. Please don’t get on the moped and if you do wear a helmet and have insurance (no helmet, no insurance).”
“My family have seen several people over the weeks be admitted and not all have been as lucky as Bonnie.”
She continued, “My family have [sic] seen several people over the weeks be admitted and not all have been as lucky as Bonnie. Also always look out for your friends. If it hadn’t have [sic] been for Bonnie’s friend who she met out here things could have been different.” Daisy explained that Bonnie’s friend noticed she hadn’t come home and found her in the hospital, notifying Bonnie’s family and prompting their flight to Thailand. Bonnie’s friend reached out to Daisy on Instagram, who was able to contact her parents.
Daisy Has Been Helping With Her Sister In Thailand
She’s Been By Her Side In The Hospital
Daisy had been in Thailand helping her sister since the tragic accident that occurred in June. In an earlier Instagram post, Daisy shared, “2.5 weeks ago my sister had an accident in Thailand. I got a message on instagram from a friend of hers telling me she had been in an accident with no other information this was on the Friday and it had happened on the Thursday, by Saturday my parents were on a flight to her.” Daisy also traveled to Thailand alongside her parents to enable Bonnie’s swift recovery.
Daisy seems shaken by her sister’s accident, dropping everything to aid in her recovery in Thailand.
Daisy continued, “Without going too much into the specifics, she has had several surgeries including her chest, face and brain and two emergency surgeries one when it happened and one over the weekend and a 12 hour surgery last week.” While the details of Bonnie’s accident remain unknown, the incident is a stark reminder to wear a helmet when traveling on a moped or motorbike and avoid any risky activity in a foreign country. Tragically, Bonnie’s insurance won’t cover the accident because she wasn’t wearing a helmet.
Daisy Started A GoFundMe For Her Sister
Her Medical Bills Are Staggering
Daisy used her platform as a famous and popular cast member on Below Deck Sailing Yacht to start a GoFundMe for her sister. Her sister’s medical bills currently stand at €140,000 and counting, as she still has a couple of weeks left in the hospital. Daisy alleged that family members and friends had been asking how they could help, prompting her to start the GoFundMe. So far, Daisy has received over €30,000 in donations from 468 people, making it easy for fans to contribute to Bonnie’s recovery.
