Below Deck fans love Kate Chastain who featured in the early seasons of the show. Amazingly, she somehow survived the scandal of an alleged domestic violence attack on her then-girlfriend, Rocio “Ro” Hernandez. That happened back in 2016, but what happened after the court case?

Kate Chastain Survived The Bad Publicity?

Recently, the former Chief Stew appeared on Traitors 1 and then she ended up in Season 2 as well. That’s not bad for someone who filled the scandal pages of social media. Additionally, she continued on Below Deck for a while. Later, she joined Bravo’s Chat Room. Furthermore, Bravo fans saw her on Below Deck Galley Talk and Couch Talk With Captain Lee and Kate.

Kate Chastain was also a guest judge with Project Runway. The Bravo character still gets thousands of people pleading for her return to the Below Deck franchise. However, she seems to be doing just fine without it. These days, she has her gorgeous little boy, Sullivan Cay who arrived in May last year.

What Were The Assault Charges?

The charges by Ro Hernandez that saw the Below Deck star arrested and charged with battery by strangulation came after she and Ro fought. It went down in Melbourne Beach, Florida. At the time, Radar Online reported on the severity of the allegations.

The Bravo star had allegedly sat on Ro, tried to strangle her, and “put her knee on her head and pulled her hair. She also covered her mouth and pinched her nose so that she couldn’t breathe.”

Additionally, Hernandez claimed it happened before. Allegations of drunkenness and efforts to remove Ro’s phone ended up with detailed complaints that involved biting.

In 2017, the outlet reported that the charges were downgraded from a felony charge to a misdemeanor. By 2018, she seemed well out of the woods. As the heat died down, she opened up to People Magazine, and let Below Deck fans know that the entire ugly incident had convinced her to take more care of personal privacy.

It seems that Kate is still as attractive to viewers as she ever was. A perfectionist on Below Deck, she held her own in Traitors. When she posted about a Traitors’ Marathon on Instagram in April last year, tens of thousands of fans loved her post.
