The Bachelor’s Joey Graziadei sparks rumors of joining another reality show after his engagement to Kelsey Anderson
The Bachelor season 28’s Joey Graziadei may have finally found love with his fiance Kelsey Anderson, but he’s fueling rumors that he’s returning to reality TV after a recent podcast appearance. While Joey’s original appearance on The Bachelorette season 20 with Charity Lawson left him a heartbroken fan-favorite, Bachelor Nation was thrilled to see him lead his season of The Bachelor. Open and honest about his journey, Joey’s time on The Bachelor season 28 was spent deliberately looking for his person, and with Kelsey, it appears he’s found his match, but the star may not be finished with reality TV.
While Joey and Kelsey have spoken extensively about settling down after their whirlwind romance finished airing, Joey may have another reality TV opportunity in mind first. During a recent appearance on Bachelor Nation alum Jason Tartick’s podcast, Trading Secrets, Joey revealed that he’s expecting an influx of money soon, leading many to speculate about why that might be. Though Joey kept quiet about the reason behind his big payday, some have wondered if he may appear on the next season of Dancing With The Stars, which traditionally comes with a big payout.
Bachelor Nation Has Strong History With Dancing With The Stars
While Joey may not be gearing up for an appearance on the ABC dance competition series, he’d be in good company. Dancing With The Stars has a long history of featuring leads and contestants from The Bachelor. Most recently, Joey’s ex, Charity, competed in the flashy dance competition, making it to the finals. Dating back to The Bachelor season 13’s winner Melissa Rycroft, Dancing With The Stars has become an almost logical next step for those coming out of the Bachelor mansion. Along with Melissa, who competed twice on DWTS, many other Bachelor alumni have competed for the mirrorball trophy.

Most notably, The Bachelorette season 11’s lead Kaitlyn Bristowe won the mirrorball on Dancing With The Stars season 29 after being told to turn the series down in 2016 by Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss. Other notable Bachelor alumni to appear on DWTS include Trista Sutter, the first ever Bachelorette, Nick Viall, Hannah Brown, Sean Lowe, and Gabby Windey. While Joey would be among great company if he chose to appear on the series, it’s possible that his comments weren’t geared toward another reality TV appearance. As a tennis pro, Joey would likely have a leg up on the competition.
How Would Joey Perform On Dancing With The Stars?
While Joey had grace and charisma on The Bachelor, it’s possible his performance on Dancing With The Stars wouldn’t be as exciting. Though Joey has the agile nature of a tennis player after playing his on his own and teaching the sport for years, the instructor has likely never danced professionally before. Accessing a whole new language of movement is typically difficult for Dancing With The Stars contestants, especially those who haven’t danced at least a little in the past. Though Joey would have the enthusiasm, his performance on the series may be lackluster if he’s a contestant next season.
Traditionally, the men who come from Bachelor Nation have a far more difficult time on the show than the women. Winners and finalists like Kaitlyn, Charity, Melissa, and Hannah have excelled in the ballroom despite having personal challenges to overcome during their time on DWTS. In contrast, the men who have performed on the show tend to struggle with the dance moves and the emotional toll that the series takes. Former Bachelor Sean had a difficult time, as did recent Bachelor Matt James. Typically, guys on the show are less capable of picking up the moves in a timely manner.
What Has Joey’s Life Post Bachelor Nation Looked Like?
While Joey and Kelsey have been excited to start the next chapter of their lives, many were certain it wouldn’t have another reality TV appearance on the docket. After their romance finally finished airing on The Bachelor, the pair were ecstatic to begin living their lives together out in the open. They quickly began documenting their travels and trips on Instagram, attending some events for ABC and Hulu to discuss The Bachelor and what was next for them. Though they have a home base at Kelsey’s place in New Orleans, the pair have been traveling for months without a break.
With their whirlwind media tour having come directly on the heels of their relationship finally becoming public, many have been worried about what issues may arise for the couple. In recent months, the pair have traveled to Europe, gone to Coachella Valley’s Stagecoach festival, and returned to Nashville for a Bachelor panel at CMA fest, but it appears like the lifestyle works for them. The couple travels frequently, and it’s clear that they enjoy a fast-paced life at the moment. As long as they’re happy with the way things have been going, it’s possible DWTS is a great next endeavor.
With Joey and Kelsey moving into the next phase of their life together, it’s possible that an appearance on Dancing With The Stars could be a great move for the couple. The series, which airs live in Los Angeles, could allow the couple to move away from Kelsey’s native New Orleans and see what comes next. Though it’s unclear how Joey would fare in the competition, Dancing With The Stars would show off a whole new side to the former Bachelor. After dealing with the stress of The Bachelor, Joey could surely handle the pressure of the ballroom.
