Below Deck Mediterranean’s Aesha Scott is working as the Chief Stew aboard Mustique for the current charter season after leaving Captain Jason Chambers and Below Deck Down Under behind, and I think the pair could be feuding. While Aesha started out on Below Deck Mediterranean with Captain Sandy Yawn, she left the series after a few seasons of working as a stew aboard the Med superyachts. When she returned to the franchise, Aesha came back at a higher level, working as a Chief Stew aboard Captain Jason’s superyacht on Below Deck Down Under, where she stayed for two seasons.

Aesha and Captain Jason quickly developed a great working relationship. The pair were able to navigate issues with the crew easily, even approaching one majorly delicate issue during Below Deck Down Under season 2’s charter season with ease. When Aesha reported the highly sensitive issues of sexual misconduct between her stew, Margot Sisson, and deckhand Luke Jones to the Captain, they were able to safely get Luke removed from the superyacht with ease. Aesha’s time on Below Deck Down Under was a success, but as she’s moved back to Below Deck Mediterranean, I’m wondering if it was a personal decision.

Aesha Left Below Deck Down Under For Below Deck Med

She’s Returning To Her Roots

While Aesha was recently a part of the Below Deck Down Under cast, she chose to leave Captain Jason’s superyacht and return to her roots. Aesha was originally on Below Deck Mediterranean, appearing for two seasons before leaving the show for her next venture. On Below Deck Med, Aesha worked as a second stew beneath Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier, and as she learned more about her role, she got better at her job. Moving up on Below Deck Down Under, Aesha was able to sharpen her skills as the Chief Stew, leading her team under the direction of Captain Jason.

Despite the fact that Aesha honed her skills on both Med and Down Under, it was clear that her relationship with Captain Jason was somewhat more in depth than the one she’d shared with Captain Sandy in the past. Given the way that Chief Stews and Captains have to work in tandem about the interior, especially surrounding the charter guests, it’s not surprising that Aesha was able to develop a deeper relationship with Captain Jason. Still, moving into her new role aboard Mustique on Below Deck Mediterranean, she’ll be taking some of the leadership skills she learned in the past.

Aesha Wouldn’t Want Captain Jason To Officiate Her Wedding

She Had Solid Reasoning For Her Opinion

Captain Jason, one of the younger Captains in the franchise at 50 years old, has been noted as one of the more handsome superyacht captains in the Below Deck franchise. Between his good looks and the fact that he’s been a respectful, kind Captain to Aesha through the years has gotten used to the fact that there are rumors about the nature of their relationship. While Aesha, who has been in a relationship with her fiance Scott Dobson for several years, has been dealing with rumors about herself and Captain Jason being linked romantically for years, it hasn’t been easy.

Though Aesha knows not to listen to the outside noise that comes with being on reality TV, she does understand that there are boundaries and limits that have to be put in place between herself and the Below Deck audience for her comfortability. With Aesha recently getting engaged, she’s shared many of the details surrounding Scott’s proposal and the beginning of their wedding planning with her followers on social media. What she’s also shared is that while she has relationships with her Below Deck castmates, things aren’t always as close or connected after the charter season comes to a close.

During an interview with PageSix, Aesha revealed that she’d be more likely to have Captain Sandy from Below Deck Mediterranean officiate her wedding than Captain Jason. Despite having a close relationship with Captain Jason, Aesha explained that it would feel inappropriate to have the Below Deck Down Under Captain be a part of her wedding to Scott when there have been rumors about their own romance for years. While I don’t have any speculation about the Aesha and the Captain of my own, I do wonder if her shutting down the cute idea was hurtful or irritating to Captain Jason.

Captain Jason Seems Upset She Filmed Below Deck Mediterranean

He Likely Hoped She’d Return To Below Deck Down Under

While Aesha and Captain Jason have strictly professional relationship, it feels obvious to me that there is some tension between them after she left his charter for Captain Sandy’s. Aesha may have only worked for Captain Jason for two seasons of Below Deck Down Under, and having an Australian crew was likely one of the better working experiences in both of their careers. Despite the fact that Aesha and the Captain had to deal with some incredibly difficult issues aboard the Northern Sun on Below Deck Down Under season 2, their relationship was clearly easy to navigate and professionally positive.

With Below Deck Down Under season 2 ending on somewhat of a sour note, viewers may have considered Aesha and Captain Jason’s relationship the only bright spot in a stained season. Even with the controversy, I was hopeful that there would be another season of the fun, fresh Below Deck Down Under on the horizon. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Bravo has made any moves to green light another season of the great Below Deck spin-off series, which means the crew of the superyacht had no choice but to look for work away from Northern Sun for the time being.

While Captain Jason hasn’t directly commented on Aesha’s move to Below Deck Mediterranean, he did share that she hadn’t let him know ahead of time, so he was a bit surprised when he found out. Captain Jason claims there’s no bad blood between himself and Aesha, but his response about not hearing about her professional plans did seem a bit more personal than a captain talking about one of his crew members. Even though Jason may have meant for it to sound unbothered, I believe his response proves that the Below Deck Captain is angry with Aesha for moving on.
