Fans of Below Deck Season 11 are calling for the firing of this crew member
Below Deck season 11 fans have been struggling with the attitude and behavior of one crew member, but now that it’s getting close to the end of the charter season, many want them fired. After an exciting season of new crew members and eccentric charter guests, Below Deck season 11 is coming to its final docking in the next few episodes. While the St. David crew has been working hard to ensure the guests are having a great time on the superyacht, there’s been more drama than ever behind the scenes. Though some crew actions have been justifiable, others haven’t.
According to Below Deck season 11 fans on Reddit, Fraser Olender deserves to be fired from the Chief Stew position as soon as possible. Though Fraser has been a part of Below Deck for years, many have found his behavior in the current season unforgivable. According to comments on a thread by u/tealnailpolish, Fraser has been awful. u/validusername_00, “Fraser keeps coming to Kerry with the stupidest complaints, ones that any irl chief stew would never have.” Meanwhile, u/WhiskeyFF explained, “I’ve said for several seasons Fraser isn’t mature enough for a leadership role and I’m being proven right.”
Fraser’s Control Issues Have Been Out Of Hand
Throughout Below Deck season 11, it’s been clear that Fraser’s control issues have been completely out of hand. His micromanagement of Barbie Pascual has been tough to watch, and the fact that he’s played favorites amongst his stews has been painful. While there have been issues all season, Fraser’s recent treatment of Nick Tatlock created even more of an issue for angry viewers when he was trying to overrule the Chef. “Fraser is throwing the new chef under the bus already. He’s so negative,” u/eva_luna shared, while u/Bedroom_Chef pointed out, “Fraser just wants to feel superior to everyone.”
While Fraser has been a fixture on different Below Deck series throughout the franchise, many believe that he’s unable to practice leadership in a healthy way. His overall style appears to be more about keeping a few of his employees and peers close and shunning the others. Many have also cited his near-constant complaints to be a major issue aboard St. David, as well as aboard any other superyacht he works on. Fraser’s inability to be able to see the positive can cause his employees to become perfectionistic and create a disconnect between him and the rest of the crew.
For Fraser, moving into a position of power was an exciting part of his journey as a yachtie. Though he’s struggled in being able to manage others, his time aboard St. David as Chief Stew has taught him some invaluable lessons. Though Fraser is struggling on Below Deck season 11, it may be worth allowing him to fumble in order to see him grow. While many fans believe Fraser should be removed from his position by the end of the season, allowing him the opportunity to see if he can regroup on another season of Below Deck feels more likely.
