Amy Johnson’s Journey After Below Deck Season 3: Unveiling Her Destiny
Amy Johnson’s Journey After Below Deck Season 3: Unveiling Her Destiny
Former Below Deck star Amy Johnson Lenthall has built a great life for herself since appearing on the show. The Wichita Falls, Texas resident was a major part of Below Deck seasons 2 and 3, which most viewers consider the best in the franchise. Amy was the third stew when she debuted and the second stew when she returned the next year. Amy’s first run on Below Deck was full of chaos and entertaining drama. She had a big crush on Eddie Lucas and faced problems with her chief stew Kate Chastain, which impacted her work.
Amy worked with many of the same colleagues in Below Deck season 3. She once again had to maneuver through her feelings for Eddie, who fell for the third stew, Raquel “Rocky” Dakota. Amy also had to deal with her working relationship with Kate. Amy was jealous of Eddie’s affair with Rocky but eventually got over it. The finale showed her building a decent bond with Kate. The duo released the last Chinese lantern together in the name of their newfound friendship. The love triangles and on-screen drama made Amy’s final Below Deck season one of the best.
Amy Johnson Got Married
Amy Is Excited To Be Married To Her Beau, Ellis Lenthall
Amy has come a long way since leaving Below Deck. In 2020, she achieved one of her greatest milestones by officially marrying her fiancé, Ellis Lenthall. Amy first posted about it in July 2020, sharing photos from the proposal.
The former stew wrote, “it all feels like a dream Easiest ‘YES’ of all time!!!”
Three months later, she celebrated her marriage ceremony with her beau. The Bravo star tied the knot with her partner in October. Amy’s brother Kelley posted about the wedding experience a month later, where Amy commented (via Bravo TV), “can you believed we celebrated our one month this week, crazy??”
Amy Appeared On A Watch What Happens Live Below Deck Special
Amy Doesn’t Feel Embarrassed Anymore
While Amy may have quit Below Deck, she’s still part of the Bravo family. The former stew appeared in Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live a few years back. She joined the 100th episode special and reunited with many crew members. One such former colleague was her friend, Kate, who also quit the series to pursue personal goals like becoming a mother. The Below Deck crew had a great time bonding with each other on the show. Amy was happy to meet Eddie, her former crush, whom she had moved on from.
Amy later talked to Bravo TV during an exclusive interview. She revealed her most embarrassing moment from the show was when she broke down crying after hearing Kate and Kat talking about her. She said, “I think this sticks out to me because I was so embarrassed about it.” Amy also shared that she had moved on from the drama and no longer cared for it. She added, “watching them back, it was like, OK, it wasn’t that big a deal.” Amy talked about learning from mistakes and stated, “as you grow, you see things from a different perspective.”
Amy’s Last Charter Was in 2021
Amy’s Last Charter Was A Freelance Gig
Amy left Below Deck in 2015. However, she continued to work in the yachting business for many years after that. After completing her final charter, she concluded her career as a stew in 2021. Amy later talked to Bravo TV and revealed her feelings about quitting the industry. She said, “my last yacht charter was in February last year. It was really recent.”
Amy added that it was a freelance gig, and she had the time to plan it. The former Below Deck stew shared it was flexible and had its benefits.
The yachting industry, while fun, certainly favors young people. As Amy was growing older and in a committed relationship with her beau, her decision to walk away from yachting was significant. She shared, “but moving into the next chapter in my life and wanting to put roots down with Ellis, my last trip was in February.”
If Ellis had been in the yachting industry, Amy would’ve continued to be part of the same.
However, since he worked for an electrical distributor and engineering company, it made more sense for Amy to switch her career while she had time.
Amy Johnson’s Journey On Below Deck
Amy Was Featured on Below Deck Galley Talk
Amy’s stint on Below Deck was nothing short of successful. While she only appeared in two seasons, it was enough for her to gain a lot of fame and inspire her to create a robe line. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic halted that dream. Amy ended her time on Bravo as a Below Deck commentator. She was a part of Below Deck Galley Talk, where she dished her opinion on Below Deck season 8. She joined the spin-off alongside her brother, Kelley, but hasn’t been active since late 2021.
Will Amy Ever Return To Below Deck?
Amy May Never Return To Below Deck
Amy debuted on Below Deck in 2014 and featured in two seasons. She remained part of the Bravo family till 2021 and decided to step away from the limelight after her marriage. Since the former stew quit the yachting industry, it’s unlikely that she’ll ever return to Below Deck again. Amy has moved on from her career and is likely more focused on building a family with her husband.
“It won’t be in full capacity if she ever returns to the franchise. She’ll probably be in a spin-off or part of a reunion episode.”
Amy’s social media suggests she’s too busy with her personal life. The Below Deck star hasn’t posted anything since January 2021. Her last post was about her time on the Below Deck 100th episode celebration, where she reunited with some friends. She titled it, “crazy it’s already been a year, and even crazier that this BD fam has been a part of my life for 7 years!” Amy’s lack of activity on social media hints that she’s living a private life in 2024. Below Deck fans will know what she’s up to when she returns to Instagram again.
